Recommended for batteries and devices over 100 watt hours, the High Watt Hour FireShield Blanket is a valuable multi-purpose tool for tackling lithium-ion battery thermal events:
- Use as a personal shield when approaching a device in thermal runaway.*
- Use to protect surrounding surfaces when dealing with a compromised personal electronic device (PED).
- Use as an additional containment layer in conjunction with our PED‑Pads to extinguish a fire.
Constructed from three layers of durable flame-resistant textiles to create a protective containment effect. Use in conjunction with CellBlockEX or PED-Pads placed on top of a thermal runaway to suppress a fire. Handles in each corner allow you to safely keep your hands behind the blanket when approaching a fire. Fabrics are rated for temperatures over 1000ºC (1832°F).
*The use of personal safety equipment, such as gloves, goggles and masks, is also recommended. Never approach a battery fire unless you have received proper training and it is deemed safe to do so.
